Order cancel reason message.

If the customer orders from any restaurant. And for some reason the restaurant cancels that order, then the customer will get the cancellation notification as well as the reason for the cancellation of the order.

Right!!! We need this feature.....
I can explain what exactly is needed

If the customer orders and vendor cancels the order ...then vendor must give the reason of cancellation.
AND
1. Vendor can select alternative food item and recommend to customer....If customer accepts the deal then the order amount must get reconsidered according to new food item selected by customer.
  This features are there in SWIGGY.....
  This features can reduce Admin efforts for sure....
  I know 2nd feature is complex but yeahh i expect 1st feature in future updates....
  will surely reduce our efforts............

SahilBhusane Even the first one is bit complex need to add column in DB "Updated by" to identity admin canceled the order or restaurant owner or customer then a "note" field to update the reason for cancellation. Although this can be done.

That deal thing is not in the roadmap suggested by SahilBhusane

Reason for canceling (choose from reasons created by admin or insert new comment)

Order cancel by whom also release in 2.9.0 but pls add Reason for cancellation when store owner cancel the order.

@Saurabh Please also add, if the order was assigned to the rider and it is cancelled then the rider should also get a notification of cancellation.
One more thing I would like to add, currently the rider is not getting any notification if an order is assigned by the admin, whereas he must get some notification that the order is assigned by the authorities.

sir @Saurabh is that need to modified at order controller too if add new cancellation reason?

surya90 there are many places you will need to modify and add the new codes.

Create migration or add column on orders table to store the cancellation message.
Modify the view to accept cancellation message on cancel button click.
Modify the controller to save the cancellation message.

If order cancellation message needs to be shown on the customer app too, then you will have to modify Order history component on react js (customer application)

If you want the customer to enter the cancellation reason then in the cancel order action on react js, the cancellation reason needs to be passed on the API and the contorller should accept it and save on the database.

Saurabh appreciated, so far, just want to working on admin dashboard (means our operator controlling iteself without related to frontend user side)

to confirm again, at controller folder, is that only to works code at admin controlller or order controller.php?

is that anymore file on backend to change?

and for restaurant owner side, is that same controller/file name or different?

on RestaurantOwnerController, the function name is cancelOrder
