Google map is expensive, why not add option to switch to free Open Street Map OSM. it will help small restaurant use the app.

azkall As Foodomaa team answered many times, they ever tried several map api in the past, but when Google map brings many advantages, they used it, and now with thousands of clients using this platform, they can't roll back as there's not enough resources and time to do.

JusanSG is not rollback, just add options. google maps is free until certain amount of users, once you get more users and scale big, Google will charge you a lot.

azkall I understand what you mean.

The platform attached with Google map in a very deep way until now, so that they won't invest time and resource to create another option, of course I myself also like what called FREE.

So we could only hope a fact: when we have to pay for Google map, we will have more money in return 🙂

Now Foodoma already use OSM in Eagle View

I hope that OSM will be used everywhere in Foodoma instead of Google Maps in near Future
Because Google Maps:

Is too expensive, when OSM is free
Is not correct in my region, when OSM is correct
I can't edit Google Maps, when i can edit OSM

Magosss OSM might have your region data, but doesn't have coverage like Google.

And we use many other APIs from Google as well like Distance API, Places API, Reverse Geocoding API etc.

In the future, we will provide an option in the Order tracking page to choose between Gmaps and OSM but for other services OSM is not ready yet.

Saurabh it would be great if osm used the client's location to search for the address, Google determines the coordinates, the script outputs the osm map and puts a label there according to Google coordinates, and loads the address (street name and house number) from osm
