More than 600+ restaurant Listed on Homepage (delay/slow loading)

Hi everyone, i have experiencing with delay/slow loading speed (sometime delay up to 30 seconds) on store listing after reach active vendors on certain selected area up to more than 600+ will appear on homepage

can anyone help to give some idea or how to improve on code so that speed loading at homepage can be improve so that can be fast loading or any delay as user complaining on that too

for info, i have used php 7.3, enable opcache, use cloudfare and use dedicated server with good spec

would appreciate if somebody facing this experience and your thoughts

surya90 if should not have more than 50-80 restaurants listed on the homepage for a single location.
Why would you want to show huge number of restaurants to the users?

Ask your customers if they want 600 restaurants on the homepage.

And ofcourse, if your data is huge, there will be delay in network transfer. Also on Foodomaa we donot have lazy loading of data for Restaurant list.

If you business cannot overcome by distributing stores in different areas, you will either need to build the lazy loading system or categorise the restaurants with a different layouts on the restaurant page itself.

It does not only depend on the code, it depends on the server config and cluster setup you have done. If you need to do a cluster setup let me know. I can do it.

Saurabh understand, practically is not like that as i'm believe users would not scroll to the end, haha, but current structure is showing all restaurants base on selection area and accidentally we have huge number of restaurants, hehe

did u mean need good react developer to implement on my site for the lazy loading concept for restaurant list at homepage to resolve on network transfer delay?

@Saurabh I am using the script for my cafe alone. But I do have a question, when we are showing 600+ restaurants on the home page, I believe it will be paginated right or an it is the endless scroll?

In such a situation, we can call the next set of restaurants in the next load right, instead of calling them in a single call. Are you meaning this as a lazy load?

surya90 Instead of having 1 powerful dedicated server, you can form a cluster of servers that will load balance the resource which in turn gives you better response time.

also if you have a huge number of images, it can also cause a loading delay in which you see a latency of 200+ ms. I will discuss with @Saurabh in providing free CDN for foodoma users

@Saurabh is there any way I can reach you out personally since I have free CDN which have servers across 30 countries that reduce the loading latency by 200ms , it is more of an alternative to imgur, you can first test in this forum and then integrate as plugin and sell it by using our services.

Actually people won't scroll over 60 stores (yes only 60, not 600) to see his favorite store. If there are too many stores, he will search the name. This is not only for mobile, it's also right for desktop since year 199x!

Don't worry bro, your visitor won't scroll to the end to make their phone laggy! 🙂

I'm using cloudflare cdn and that works cool , but we need to consider the database structure too .something like partitioning it may help store and index tons of data .

The idea for free CDN. Create an account on https://im.ge , upload your images over there and hotlink the images to your website.

Have servers in many continents ASIA, EMEA, Oceania, Africa, North America, South America and Europe. It will definitely improve the image loading time.

surya90 I don't have a solution right now but I agree with the other people. ✌️

You need a customization to have a "Lazy loading" or "See more button" on your main page so that only 20-30 restaurants are displayed when the page loads. And that if the user scrolls down other restaurants will load.

But I think Foodomaa will be forced to have this system in the future. Because there are also reviews, orders, addresses, transactions, notifications, etc. Which are displayed without limit and this will be a problem in a few years in the user experience when all this data has to be displayed at once.

You are just a pioneer of the problem that awaits us all later lol 😆

danoki in 2.8 we added lazy loading for past order list on the customer application. In 2.9 we added lazy loading for past delivery completed orders for the delivery application.

Will be adding when the time is correct. But for homepage, loading of 50-80 restaurants doesn't require lazy loading.
