So for many people the 3.3 update may be a good update but for a lot of people not.

I need users to enter their location before they can continue, because not every restaurant delivers in a “populair location" (whole city) and if you want to zone you need 20-30 zones for each city and if you have 4-6 cities users need to scroll for hours to find theirs.

I don’t understand why Foodoma did this without consulting the forum, and I’m being honest if Foodoma does not make "location" an option again I will request a refund because i ( and a lot of others)can never update from 2.9.2 because of this feature. It seems that the core team is only focusing on India instead of all their customers. I made a ticket about this they do not respond and keep closing my ticket. I even bought extended license and they won’t help you.

so hereby I request the Foodoma team, to make location an option just like V2.9

This is where you are wrong brother. Your motivation is to server your customrs better and the only way to do that is to get their current location. The popular location is just the backup plan!!!
Ther is a Use GPS button that captures the gps Location and selects that location automatically (not address, only location)
And this combines with the Foodomaa customer android app will help you serve your customer better in every way.

There is no way we will go back to the older location selection flow as it requires 5 steps before even customer view any stores. Bad User Experience.

When users select the popular location, they are actually selecting the locality and not their address, try to understand that.

And we didn't make these changes without any discussion. We got in touch with many users from the forum personally and had about 2-3 hrs calls everyday for a week to build this feature properly.

I understand any kind of change is difficult to comprehend as its natural human behaviour to keen towards their comfort zone.
And if this was the default structure of Foodomaa no one would have any issues. So please try to see that in this way.

And regarding the refund, surely we can process if your purchase is not older than 15 days.

You can also use the Official Customer Application. The best thing is that it doesn't even show the user to select the Popular Location option, it automatically detects the customer's current location and then there's the benefit of Native Push Notifications

Saurabh Your argument is wrong on every level. Let’s start again from the beginning.

I’m active in my whole country, so first users needed to enter their location in order to see what restaurants deliver to them. ( Every big company in the world does it this way)

But now the whole Foodoma script takes 25 steps back. I now need to enter every city in populair location and even then a restaurant in the "west" of the city doesn’t deliver to the "“south " of the city. So you have another problem because users will select a city go to checkout and find out that restaurant doesn’t deliver to them. Before it was enter location (what took 10seconds ) and you good to go now it is, find you location in a list of 200 cities and hope they deliver otherwise find a new restaurant and a ew menu.

and what you are saying about location does not make sense. Because for example an iOS user when they go to Foodoma and their location is not on, they need to go to iphone settings and turn on location manually. 7/10 user won’t do that they will just go look for another company.

so it doesn’t matter what argument you have, with all due respect this is the most stupidest update ever make on Foodoma.

and I have my extended for over 6 months, however this update is so mayor and different what Foodoma used to be that i can never update to 3.3,
because it’s just impossible for me to let users select out of 200-300 popular locations. 80% of phone users have their location off.

In my experience many users don't even bother to set their location (for first time they visit) before knowing whats inside, what stores are offering. They just keave there. I did myself with many apps which require me to register an account, or ask me to set up my location before i can enter the app.
Get the position with GPS is best way. All users have to do is allow their location with gps.

This was the exactly the same feedback we have been receiving from Foodomaa customers for years and now we have finally made something that can directly land users to the homepage.

Dailylot @Saurabh @[deleted] so what I requested also in the ticket is to make the splash screen and location settings an option an the next update. So you can serve all your buying customers not only the customers in India.

Dailylot Brother I literally mentioned you 2 solutions for your problem. Cursing will not solve anything. What we have done is for the betterment of all of the your businesses.

I genuinely respect the fact that you are operating your business in the whole country and how difficult it can be.

You have extended license, you can hire someone and get the old code installed in the new version, I don't think it should be a problem but its really impossible for us now to go back to previous interface as there will be 100s if not 1000s of changes and settings will need to be created everywhere.

I hope you'll understand. For a business like this, using GPS is the best option and 95% people will use GPS option if you hide the Popular Location. Try for some days, let us know how it goes.

We cannot convince you when you are stubborn to stick to your point.

The only way you can go back to the older flow is by using 2.9.2.
If you need the files, create a support ticket and we will send you the files for 2.9.2

Please remember, Foodomaa is not for only one business type or for only one user or for only one country.

By the way, try the demo application of Foodomaa android app, and then decide if it's any different from UberEats or other examples you gave.

[deleted] hi brother you explained 2 solution and I explained here above why that’s not working for me (and others). The best solution is just the old location set up.

And you suggesting to hire a developer is really annoying now. Because the Foodoma team added every Indian gateway but not for example a European one. So we needed to buy extended and hire a developer to add our own gateway. And now again in order to keep using Foodoma I need to hire a developer ? How is that fair? I already spend 10x on Foodoma only on license to buy extended, ($1000 + on custom work) but for everybody else they get everything free.

its not fair that I bought extended license for $600 and there is no way to keep the app how I bought it. I’m not again going to spend more money to keep the location screen. If I’m real honest and hard, I paid for the app how it was sold, what is happening now is something completely different then when I bought it. It’s just a completely new app almost and not in a good way for me unfortunately. Btw if you say you guys can't make it a option because of the thousands line of code, why can a developer do it?

Dailylot A developer can integrate the old system for you, but for us integrating both systems together is very difficult. You only need one system. But we'd have to add conditions on every line of code to make both systems run.

Btw look at UberEats, Deliveroo, door dash, takeaway they all require you to enter your location or postalcode to even continue on the site .
