OTP only registration (No Email ID Required)

I guess the topic says it all. OTP only registration. Small towns are not filled with people who know what their email id is. Well, I understand that this script is made with everyone in mind. But it would be better to have an option to eliminate email id requirement at all.

In the meanwhile, if we remove the email id mandate in the registration code file and remove the email field, will it work?

Code customize the customer app to make the email optional.
And better not to alter anything on the DB level, rather, while getting the registration request, on the backend, create a random email address like: {user_phone_number}@yourdomain.com and save that instead.
