Saurabh To be honest, I am understanding of the choices that you have to make for the ongoing success of your business. As a business owner myself (not just using your script), I am well aware that sometimes the current climate requires us to change and adapt in order to survive.
That being said, there is a number of reasons why I personally would not be able to move forward in a SaaS environment.
I am reliant on certain modifications, such as the store owners ability to manually change statuses without the use of the driver app directly from store dashboard, as well as the WhatsApp integrations from Visimisi, and a card on delivery payment method. Due to the country I operate in, it is easier for me to let restaurants handle all payments and I can invoice them at the end of each month. I firmly believe that (for the most part) one of the most enticing things about foodomaa has been its ability to be extended by users who require specific functions, and the support of a community who have been detrimental to this.
Business security. Having a self hosted application for a mission critical business is to me a safer option than putting it in the hands of a company that is outwith my control. I wouldn't want my business to die because a company went bankrupt or decided to end the project by shutting down external servers. Not saying this would happen but it is a huge factor to consider for business owners.
In conclusion, if the above points could be solved I would have no issue in moving towards a SaaS approach. However, as a show of good will to those people who have bought in and supported the project since the beginning such as myself and who cannot upgrade to SaaS for the reasons I mentioned previously, I would think it reasonable (and very much appreciated) to at least push one last update to solve only the issues of deprecated code/integrations coming in the near future;
the main one being the change to Google Analytics 4 which without will render our businesses inoperable.
I hope that I have worded this in an understanding and respectful way, it is not my wish to insult the choices which you make for your own business. But it is also my intention to try and protect my own.
Kindest regards and best of luck for the future,
