HackyAbinash Foodomaa was not initially built for scaling of business. There are many businesses using Foodomaa and what to scale it to the next level. This is overwhelming for us and for Foodomaa too, because Foodomaa cannot currently handle scale at such levels.
There are many issues with the current core of Foodomaa and the architecture that we have built.
And most of the successful businesses that are using Foodomaa donot really care about managing the code and the server, they are only focused on managing their business and generating a good revenue. (That that's what everyone should be focused on IMO)
These businesses now require advanced features that can NEVER be built on Foodomaa for generic purpose. We can only build those when we change the full core code and build many services sidewise that will be running on our server and we will manage all those.
Hence a cloud version of Foodomaa is the only way to go (because now with all these serious investment made by us, we need to protect our IP too)
It is only meant for businesses whose requirements are not fulfilled with the current version of Foodomaa. If you are satisfied with the current version, you can keep on using that. (ofcourse none of the cloud features will be available on the current Foodomaa for obvious reasons explained above)
I am really excited to start the full-fledged development of SaaS after 2.9 is released.
Some of the community members are working hard and taking their precious time out from their current business to provide all their requirements to be taken care of in the cloud version because they see true value of this kind of platform.
More discussion for cloud version will follow soon (after 2.9 is stable)
